Q-01When does 007 First Light come out?+
It launches May 27, 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital pre-orders get 24-hour early access from May 26. The Nintendo Switch 2 version arrives later, in Q3 2026. See the full release & platforms breakdown.
Q-02Is 007 First Light open world?+
No. It's a mission-based game with large, open-ended sandbox levels you can tackle multiple ways — the Hitman philosophy — rather than one seamless open world. Levels span Iceland, London, Malta and the Carpathians.
Q-03Is there multiplayer or co-op?+
No. First Light is a single-player, story-driven game. The bonus Tactical Simulation replay mode is also solo — built for chasing scores and experimenting, not for online play.
Q-04Will it be on Game Pass or PS Plus?+
It's a paid release and has not been announced for Game Pass or PS Plus at launch. Buy it on Steam, Epic, PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store.
Q-05Is it canon to the movies or novels?+
No — and that's the point. IO Interactive built an original origin with EON Productions. It's not the Fleming novel, the films, or Horowitz's prequels; it establishes its own continuity, with a trilogy planned. More in the story dossier.
Q-06Is it like Hitman?+
Yes and no. It carries Hitman's improvisational, multi-route stealth, but with more forward momentum, Arkham-style freeflow combat, charm/bluffing mechanics and — a studio first — drivable vehicles. See the gameplay guide.
Q-07How much does it cost, and is there a season pass?+
Editions run $69.99 (Standard), $79.99 (Specialist), $149.99 (Collector's) and $299.99 (Legacy). Every digital pre-order includes a free Deluxe Upgrade. No season pass has been confirmed; given IO's live-service approach to Hitman, expect possible post-launch content. Full editions & bonuses here.
Q-08What are the PC system requirements?+
Minimum is a GTX 1660 / 16GB RAM for 1080p/30; recommended is an RTX 3060 Ti / 32GB RAM for 1080p/60. It needs 80GB of storage and supports DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation. Full breakdown on the PC specs page.
Q-09Who plays James Bond and the villain?+
Patrick Gibson plays the 26-year-old James Bond, and musician Lenny Kravitz plays the antagonist, Bawma. The cast also includes Gemma Chan and Lennie James. See every character & voice actor.
Q-10Why was the release date delayed?+
IO Interactive moved the launch from March 27 to May 27, 2026 (announced December 23, 2025) to give the game extra polish. The Switch 2 version was separately pushed to Q3 2026.
